Trying Out Film Photography

So, I recently picked up a very cheap and flimsy reusable film camera from Walmart of all places. It was $25 and came with a roll of mystery film. I’ve yet to develop the film, but I’m excited to see what comes out of it at the end of my upcoming vacation.
Now, I know it’ll be pretty bad. I’m a digital photographer by hobby. I;ve been wanting to try film for years. But recently the price of film cameras and stock has been skyrocketing. I’m not willing to spend $200 on a camera from 3 decades ago and in poor condition and $20 on a roll of film to try out an interest. So this cheap find is great. It’ll allow me to see if I can stomach the waiting time and the cost of purchasing and developing film. I’m far too used to the instant gratification of digital photography.
I’ll post the images from the trip in a follow up post. In my area it looks like the develop process will take about a month. So, I’ll have to be patient. I’m excited to see what comes out of it. I’m not expecting much. But hey, it’s a cheap toy and a fun experiment.
